It's been a strange experience for sure. But things are finally settling. I mean, I've worked with great people ... and I just kept shooting. It's not like the album were standing, waiting and locked for years. I have not stopped attending the studio, I have not stopped writing songs. So it seems that everything is running well now, probably the single will be released soon. We are in the process in which everything is ready for mixing, the choice of songs, mastering, and everything else.
- How would you describe the album?
I would describe the album as well ... eclectic ... but I would say is more intense than my first two albums, certainly has more energy, more music is lively, there is a greater commitment to everything because I basically wrote all the songs, so ... is very transparent, very honest, has a lot of what young people think, speak. The thing is that I had the opportunity to experience different kinds of music, while remembering that it is a disc of pop music.
- The project has a title?
Also called All I Want Is Everything. I think more than ever ... this title is very perfect, very consistent with where I am with my life and what I learned in recent years during the recording process.
- With whom you worked?
I was with Jim Jonsin and ... Katie, who I worked with recently? I worked with Danja, we did great things with him ... I know. There are so many ... those ... ah, Jim Beanz, who is the person I most enjoy to do and one of my favorites. I do not know if you know him or has seen it, but he made the album Loose by Nelly Furtado, he is working with Timbaland, he did basically the whole Shock Value II. I-love-it. And we did some very cool things together, I have worked with Kenna, then ... I never got to stop, I have worked with my friends, simply writing and preparing everything.
- What happened to your viral video?
I want to make sure the time is right before launch that the music video In The Dark because the direction is very different and very bold, I want to be sure what will be the first look that I'll lay. I want people to hear what I have done this album before they do a trial based on only one part of the job. The music is totally different, more vibrant and ... nothing like anything I've ever done before. The look is more artistic and ... I have it in my safe. Is ready. I really think it was super cool and one day, I do not know when, but we'll release it.
- We'll have an album by JoJo this year?
God willing. Yes ... no, this is because it is in my hands. If you were in my hands I would be released. But I'll tell you something. Even in my head I was ready to release this album last year and the year before last year, I was not. The songs are getting better, I am increasingly inspired, life goes on and I feel that I still maturing and discovering that path I followed, taking that direction. And I would not trade that time for nothing because I'm very proud of the album. So I really hope he is released later this year ... and if not, I'll keep working to one day throw seven albums at once, who knows. (Laughter)
- Qual'è lo stato del vostro album, adesso?'
E' stato una strana esperienza di sicuro. Ma adesso le cose si sono finalmente risolte. Ho lavorato con grandi persone... e ho continuato a riprendere. Non è come l'album che è stato in condizione di attesa e bloccato per anni. Non ho smesso di frequentare lo studio, non ho smesso di scrivere canzoni. Quindi sembra che tutto è in funzionamento ora, probabilmente il singolo sarà rilasciato presto. Siamo nel processo in cui tutto è pronto per la miscelazione, la scelta delle canzoni e tutto il resto.
- Come vuoi descrivere l'album?
Voglio descrivere l'album come... eclettico... ma voglio dire che è più intenso dei miei primi album, certamente ha più energia, la musica è più movimentata. C'è un maggior impegno a tutto perchè ho scritto tutte le canzoni, quindi... è molto trasparente, molto onesto, ha un sacco di giovani di cui parlare e pensare. La cosa è che ho l'opportunità di sperimentare diversi generi di musica, anche se vi ricordo che è un disco di musica Pop.
- Il progetto ha un titolo?
Si chiama "All I Want Is Everything". Penso più che mai... che questo titolo è perfetto, coerente di dove sono con la mia vita e che ho colto negli recenti anni durante il processo di registrazione.
- Con chi hai lavorato?
Ero con Jim Jonsin e... Katie.
Con chi hai lavorato recentemente?
Ho lavorato con Danja, abbiamo fatto grandi cose con lei. Ci sono molti... Jim Beanz, che è una persona che ho più gusto a lavorare insieme ed è uno dei miei preferiti. Non so se lo conosci o lo hai visto, ma lui ha fatto l'album di Nelly Furtado. Sta lavorando con Timbaland, ha fatto fondamentalmente tutto l'album Shock Value II. Lo amo. E insieme abbiamo fatto cose davvero cool. Ho lavorato con Kenna poi... ho lavorato con i miei amici, semplicemente scrivendo e preparando tutto.
- Cos'è successo al vostro video virale?
Voglio fare sicuramente il momento giusto prima che lanci il video musicale In The Dark perché la direzione è differente e audace. Voglio essere sicura di quello che sarà il primo sguardo che preparerò. Voglio che la gente ascolti quello che ho fatto prima che facevano un processo basato solo su una parte del lavoro. La musica è totalmente differente, più vivace e… nulla di quello che io abbia mai fatto prima. Il look è più artistico… c’è l’ha di sicuro. È pronto. Credo proprio che è super cool, e un giorno, non so quando, noi lo rilasceremo.
- Avremmo un album di JoJo quest'anno?
Se Dio vorrà. Si… no, questo perché lo è nelle mie mani. Se tu eri nelle mie mani sarebbe stato rilasciato. Ma ti dirò qualcosa. Anche nella mia testa ero pronta a rilasciare quest'album l’anno scorso e gli anni scorsi. Le canzoni sono migliori, sono sempre più ispirata, la vita va avanti e sento che ho molto da maturare e scoprire che il percorso che sto seguendo, sta prendendo quella direzione. E non vorrei che il tempo faccia affari per nulla perché sono orgogliosa dell’album. Quindi spero davvero che viene rilasciato entro la fine dell’anno e se no, continuerò a lavorare a un giorno e gettare sette album in una volta sola, chi lo sa. (Ride)
